Ohio indie rockers Cloud Nothings make it back to Berlin, supporting this year’s standout release Attack On Memory, with a show here in the wonderful confines of Postbahnhof.

Led by Case Western Reserve University dropout Dylan Baldi, the Cloud Nothings tore through a 40-minute set culled entirely from their widely-acclaimed new “Attack on Memory.” Opening with the bouncy “Fall In”, the band’ thick, lo-fi freneticism built nicely into heavier tracks “Stay Useless” and “Cut You.” Drummer Jayson Gerycz’s manic beats propelled Baldi’s new songs into a much more ambitious brand of alternative rock than the Cloud Nothings have attempted before — one that easily felt like the most essential of the night.

With that glowing endorsement under their belts, and with support from all directions for the new album, even from the unlikely Pitchfork quarter, the kids are set for a massive concert here in Berlin.

Travelling with them on the road will also (hopefully) be copies of their brand new vinyl LP, Live at the Grog Shop, recorded at a home gig in Cleveland April this year. It is a limited run and they might all be gone by now, but if you get to the show early and you see some copies there, snatch them up, snatch them up!
