jajaBefore we will be back in autumn, Ja Ja Ja is going to happen one last time. The April edition introduces the aspiring Swedish band Last Lynx, Norwegian baritone voice Psyence Fiction and Finnish finesse NEØV at FluxBau. Three bands we’ll hear more from in the near future. Ja Ja Ja takes place at FluxBau, in cooperation with FluxFM and nothingbuthopeandpassion.

Urban themes invented in a forest tree house somewhere just outside of Stockholm. Organic sounds with a strong electro pulse. That’s the fundament, which Last Lynx builds their songs on. Songs about friendship, love and the fear of being alone is hidden in lyrical metaphors, sometimes complex and sometimes becoming trite. The band reveals themselves as incurable romantics. There’s always hope and there’s always something beautiful in all ugliness.

Psyence Fiction released their EP ‘iampsyencefiction’ in the fall of 2013 and went on to perform alongside Bon Iver’s Volcano Choir at Oslo’s Sentrum Scene. The sound of Psyence Fiction will be familiar to anyone with a fondness for The National, Mark Kozelek, Kurt Vile or Red House Painters. But where many bands fail to make their own way in a crowded genre, Psyence Fiction easily standout from the crowd with Johansen’s distinct lyrics and signature baritone voice.
NEØV (FI)

NEØV’s origins go back to the late 90’s and a small town called Juankoski in Finnish Lakeland. Two brothers Anssi and Samuli Neuvonen started making music together since early childhood, formed the band Neufvoin, released a couple of sold-out ep’s, toured in Europe, went through some line-up changes and started a new life under the name NEØV. The debut album ”Orange Morning” presented NEØV’s characteristic sound palette: floating melodies and flowing rhythms mixed with layered guitars, dozy keyboards and horns. The influence of their home town can be heard in the band’s music: it’s expansive but quiet, grandiose but intimate.
