We don’t like to ask for anything, but we do have running costs. We’re not rich kids and we don’t run through any financial backing, any money going into Blitzgigs comes out of our pockets. It’s often quite a bit, so we would really love it if Berlin chipped in a little.

What has Blitzgigs ever done for anybody?
We really like to think that we’re doing good work on behalf of the Berlin live music scene as well as the city in general. We tirelessly support grassroots bands and small venues as well as upcoming music journalistic talent.
But there’s so much advertising on Blitzgigs…?
We make a tiny bit from the advertising on the site. We make a tiny bit more from commission on ticket sales. How much we actually take in is so small it’s embarrassing to say how much, so we won’t.
