Ethereal shoegaze electronica from Italian performer Mushy, headlining a lovely Friday night at Madame Claude.
It’s been a busy 2012 for this young producer and performer, the new album from Mushy, Breathless, made it out the door and was hailed as one of the best of the year from reviewers who are into the 4AD sound. A bunch of singles and the My Life So Far 12″ out on Mannequin records, along with 2012′s European tour and 2013′s Eastern tour. All of it a must for the dark-wave, synth-wave, Cocteau Twins devotee.
Supporting on the night you’ll find Czech stoner-pop Black Tar Jesus doing a low-down and slinky rock thing that’s just damn sexy stuff. Berliners Mystical Communication Service are filling in the gaps playing a set of their ace cosmic blues, a sound that’s getting them some good crowds and deservedly so.
