Heimspiel # 1 – August 22nd 2013
musical reading by Christian Bormann
Kick-off for Heimspiel! On August 22nd Home is where your stereo plays hosts the first edition of its new concert- and cabaret series. In regular-irregular cycle bands, verbal acrobats, sweepers – possibly all in one – present their skills on the cozy stage of Alter Roter Löwe Rein in Rixdorf/Neukölln. The series kicks-off with the musical reading Ich und die Anderen by Christian Bormann.
Christian Bormann is a multitalent – educated social worker, carpenter, farmer, singer, theatre producer, actor and dedicated diarist. In more than 120 diaries he documents those small absurd episodes in every day life, that everyone gets involved in every now and then: while doing grocery shopping, having appointments, following conversations on the metro and on the streets of the big city. In detail and with a talent for acting Chistian Bormann shares these personal moments with the audience. His storytelling is snappish, but never malicious.
As a resident of Neukölln, Bormann will also read numerous stories about his Kiez. His lecture is supplemented by German shellac classics from the 30’s to 50’s. This fusion of literature and music sets the scope of the newly launched Heimspiel– series.
