Formed at the beginning of 2013, Royal Blood are a 2-piece band from Brighton. Having known each other for years in different bands, Mike Kerr (Bassist/Vocalist) & Ben Thatcher (Drums).
In 2013, Brighton duo Royal Blood made their first public musical statement – a 3 minute slice of thrilling, primal rock & roll called Figure It Out that appeared unannounced on the band’s Soundcloud page but was soon picking up serious plaudits. It’s a single that wrings the maximum amount of noise, aggression and pure youthful exuberance out of the most minimal of ingredients, featuring nothing more than Mike Kerr’s vocals and bass and Ben Thatcher’s drums. At the tail end of 2013, Royal Blood released Out of The Black. Earlier this year, Little Monster and Come On Over followed while we are still waiting for their debut album.
Royal Blood play straight forward rock inspired by acts such as Queens Of A Stone Age, Led Zeppelin or Arctic Monkeys. They have also been confirmed as main support for Arctic Monkey’s London shows in May. 2014 is certainly shaping up nicely for them. So you better catch them before they get big.
